Moments captured from our Media Internship Program
One of the key strategies in grooming young catalysts for social change is by refining their skills and capacity through the YouthHubAfrica Media Internship Program.
Launched in August 2017, the YouthHubAfrica Media Internship Program seeks to train young people with 21st Century Digital media skills for social development as well as employability skills to be productive members of the society.
Conducted in 2018, 2019 and 2022 respectively, the Media Internship Training consists of a 4-day intensive hands-on training of 15 successful applicants on Photography, Videography, Graphics design, Social Media management and editing. Following the 4-day training, media beneficiaries are placed on a 6-month fellowship program in partners organisations to hone their skills.
In the last 3 years, 45 young people have been trained. 15 out of them progressed to be staffed by partner organisations after completion of their 6-months internship, 10 out of the beneficiaries ventured into media consultancy, while other beneficiaries ventured deeper into building their capacity in media related fields.
Following careful evaluation, the goal of the Media Internship Program is one that has been achieved as we have continued to receive amazing feedbacks from beneficiaries and partner organisations who have engaged the skills of our trained interns.
