An Emergency call to Access over 66.8 Billion Naira Education Grant by the States Government.
In response to our filed FOI to the Universal Basic Education Board (UBE) on Matching grants disbursed to the states between 2017 and 2019, It has come to our notice that:
- Out of the total sum of 158,382,223,982.02 Naira matching Grant allocated to state between 2017 and 2019, 66,891,467,210.65 Naira remains unaccessed, thereby denying children across the 36 states and the FCT the opportunity for enhanced quality education
The breakdown of allocation and how much your state has accessed is as follows:

While considering the additional impact of COVID on basic education, we call on the state governors to expedite action in ensuring that this unaccessed funding is requested for within the next 100 days for the benefits of children across states in Nigeria.
We remain available to support these states as they thrive to promote free, safe, and quality education for all its children.
